How to choose between them
Water resistance is the figure that matters most. A watch rated for splashes is fine under an umbrella but not in the sea. If you swim, or work outdoors in the rain, start by filtering this column and ignore everything else until you have narrowed it down.
Resin straps are lighter and cheaper to replace; steel looks dressier and lasts longer. Resin perishes eventually, especially in heat and sweat, but a replacement strap costs very little. Steel survives that but adds weight.
Case size is personal, not technical. Anything from about 38 mm up reads as a full-size men's watch; below that sits smaller on the wrist. If you can, try one on at the shop before deciding — the number on paper tells you less than you would think.
