Casio analog watches for men

Last updated August 2026

Casio's analog ranges — MTP and MTD — are the steel-bracelet dress watches, hands and a dial rather than a display. We stock 9, from Rs 19,500 to Rs 38,400. The table is built from live stock.

MTP or MTD — what the codes mean

MTP is the dress range. Slimmer cases, plain dials, and the models most people buy for office wear or a wedding. Sizes run from around 40 mm up to the mid-40s, so there is a genuine choice between something restrained and something that fills the wrist.

MTD sits a step up in build. Larger cases, heavier bracelets, and generally a better water resistance rating. It is closer to a sports watch in feel while still being an analog three-hander. If you want one watch for both the office and the weekend, this is the range to look at.

Beyond that the codes are just catalogue numbers — the digits after the letters identify the specific model and dial colour, not a hierarchy. A higher number does not mean a better watch.

How to choose

Start with case size. This is what you will actually notice day to day. Around 40 mm is conservative and works under a shirt cuff; 44 mm and up is a deliberately large watch. The measurement excludes the crown, so the real width on the wrist is a little more than the number.

Then water resistance. The MTP range is typically rated for splashes and handwashing; the MTD models generally take more. Neither is a diving watch. The water resistance guide explains what each rating permits in practice.

Day-date is worth deciding on early. Some models show the day of the week alongside the date, some show date alone, and a few show neither. It is a small thing that people turn out to have strong opinions about once they own the watch.

Bracelet sizing is done in the shop. Steel bracelets come long and need links removed to fit. We do that free when you collect in Trincomalee; if it ships to you, take it to any watch shop and it is a five-minute job.
